Real Estate Development Manager – Utility-Scale Solar & Battery Storage

San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area
Full-time
$130,000–$165,000

Reports to: Head of Development

About the company

Our client is an established independent power producer that develops, owns and operates utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. The business is growing steadily, and this is a chance to join a close-knit development team where your work directly shapes the project pipeline.

The role

You’ll lead landowner outreach for new project sites. That means finding the right parcels, making first contact with owners, explaining what a solar or storage lease could mean for them, and handing interested landowners over to the development team to negotiate terms. It suits someone who likes talking to people, is comfortable picking up the phone or knocking on a farmhouse door, and is good at building trust quickly.

What you’ll do

  • Identify landowners and find their contact details using deeds, plat maps, tax records and other public sources
  • Reach out to prospective landowners by phone, text and email to start conversations about leasing or selling land
  • Visit properties in person where needed
  • Present the project opportunity clearly, covering the benefits and next steps
  • Pass engaged landowners to the development team smoothly so negotiations can begin
  • Keep accurate records of all outreach, responses and handovers
  • Stay current on outreach tools and techniques, and refine the approach to improve response rates

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years in land acquisition or a closely related real estate role (preferred)
  • Confidence negotiating with landowners and presenting opportunities persuasively
  • Experience researching ownership through deeds, plat maps, tax rolls, county property records and online courthouse systems
  • GIS and land prospecting software skills (required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A track record of building lasting relationships with landowners
  • Strong organisation and record-keeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Nice to have: familiarity with mineral rights, mineral ownership reports and state oil and gas regulatory databases
